New Patients

If you’re new to Chiropractic care it is important for us to explain things in advance so we can establish a successful partnership – Chiropractic care is a process involving a series of visits, with each one building on the one before.

Timing of your visits in early phase care is crucial and your results depend on adhering to your prescribed schedule. For healing to progress and for changes in your spine and nervous system to occur the therapeutic relationship with your Chiropractor needs to go the distance, so your understanding of who we are, what we do and why we do it is very important.

We want you to feel comfortable and confident you’re in the right place so please read ahead so you know what to expect.

Most people consult a Chiropractor because:

  • They are experiencing pain, discomfort, or limitation and need relief
  • They feel good but understand the importance of optimal spinal function in maintaining health

Initial Consultation

(or for a patient returning after an absence of 6 months)

We advise you allow 45 mins for this appointment and also arrive 15 minutes prior so you have time to complete paperwork.

At your Initial Consultation you will be greeted by our friendly staff and asked to complete paperwork regarding your health history. Once completed you will meet our Chiropractor who will review your file and discuss areas of concern and ask questions to help evaluate your condition.

A comprehensive assessment including a postural and structural analysis, relevant neurological and orthopaedic testing, and review of any previous radiographic investigations, will be carried out to determine the cause of your problems and whether you can benefit from Chiropractic care.

If we can help – we’ll let you know

If we cannot help – we’ll let you know and refer you appropriately

Treatment usually commences at this visit if findings indicate it is safe and appropriate to do so. You will be asked to sign a consent form based on the information presented and outlined in the form. You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions. In some cases, more time or information is needed to correlate your findings before treatment or you may need to be referred to another professional for an opinion or other testing eg ultrasound/blood tests.

At the end of your first appointment you’ll be given home care recommendations and initial scheduling. You may also be referred for radiological examination (eg X-rays) to gather more information or to support exam findings.

Follow Up Visit

We advise you allow 30 mins for this appointment

Your Chiropractor will review and explain findings of any X-ray investigation you may have been referred for, discuss your health goals, and continue/commence treatment. Your Report of Findings will then occur at your third visit.

If no further investigations were required following your initial visit, your Chiropractor will have formulated an individualised care plan based on your findings, which they will discuss and deliver at this visit.

Report of Findings Visit

We advise you allow 30 mins for this appointment

This is your Report of Findings visit during which your specific case and ongoing treatment options are discussed extensively based on previous testing and radiographic indicators, as well as your functional/subjective response to initial treatments.

Scheduling and recommendations regarding home care, postural advice and prescribed exercises are also discussed at this visit.

This is an important session for you in understanding your path forward.

Regular Visit

Spinal assessment and treatment.

Follow-up regular Chiropractic care visits for achieving/maintaining optimal spinal and neurological function.

Duration may vary based on individual case, stage of care (initial/corrective/elective wellness), as well as presenting condition.

Progress Review Visit

We advise you allow 30 mins for this appointment

These are visits scheduled intermittently at the recommendation of your Chiropractor and are important in determining progress of individual care objectives and measuring outcomes. A review of your care plan will also take place if indicated.
